As the biblical Cain & Abel comparison unfolds that Cain the farmer (agriculture) & Abel the herdsmen (livestock). So as the story goes as my memory serve me, Cain being the 1st born offered his offering of agriculture produce to God, but instead God took the offering from his brother Abel as Abel offering was with sincerity Abel offer his best & fattest livestock to go make the offering while Cain didn’t, he must offer condiments, in fact instead of produce, he offered straws & kept the best for himself. Cain was furious & felt downcast when God took Abel offering

Cain’s selfishness drives his jealousy, rivalry & aggression towards his brother hence killing his brother. It is the same with Lee Seon Woo, his failed recognition from his father even though he followed his instructions to the letter, then having going to lost everything, his father’s love & recognition, his Kim Seo Yeon & lastly his own life, he wanted to keep this all to himself whatever time he has left & finds that his brother Lee Cho In who is not his blood but just a pitiful & poor soul that need shelter but finds that he is the inheritor of the hospital. But when Lee Cho In proves that he was a better man in the eyes of his own father, jealousy rage as being 2nd best that Lee Cho In need to disappear to get what he wants. It doesn’t help when you have a manipulative mother behind him as a shadow brainwashing & scorn the sign of Lee Cho In as her poor son get nothing. The true in fact that Lee Cho In idolised & adores his older brother, the fact that only found out lately over the brothers true mutual feelings for each other

Although Lee Cho In is not the meek Abel who was slaughter by his brother like a lamb, this “Abel” come back with a fury of vengeance but doesn’t want to go over to the dark side of the force, by only wanting to hear Lee Seon Woo apologise for his mistake but how hard it is for Lee Seon Woo to mutter that words due to his overbearing ego. Yes we all know that sorry is the hardest word to say. But we also have Lee Cho In’s “archangel” Oh Yeong Ji who is keeping in check & balance & will able to accomplished the feat as Lee Cho in is seen really bent & vent

The story now continues, now do we have to see that if Lee Cho In is so saintly that he will save his brother who had already forsaken & abandoned him & declare him “dead”. Will Oh Yeong Ji his conscience that able to persuade him otherwise that he needs to first forgives himself first then Lee Seon Woo in order to appease his own fury & anger to repose his soul that make eat him up making him hurt & tired or engulfed & gives in to his anger & not do the operation. Will Oh Yeong Ji able to convince his obligation as a medical practitioner & spark his sense of virtue & righteousness that he has to save all men if he can in regardless to who he is. Doctors don’t choose their patient by their background. Honestly a person with advance tumour that is Grade 4 will it be possible to operate in the 1st place, but then this is a drama?

Cain & Abel Episode 19

Flashback of Kim Seon Yeon saying that Lee Seon Woo is ill & ask whether his condition had deteriorated rapidly as Lee Cho In looks at the MRI scan. Lee Cho In then approaches the bed & draws the curtain to find an unconscious Lee Seon Woo with a sustained head injury. Does this be seen as Lee Seon Woo final retribution for what he did? Then Lee Cho In recalls how he begs Lee Seon Woo to just apologise to Lee Cho In & all will be forgotten & they will make up & become as before & he returns being his younger brother. Lee Cho In just wanted to hear Lee Seon Woo to say sorry for his fault but Lee Seon Woo refuses that he will not do it. As for him, his younger brother had died in China. It is a very cruel statement to make. Lee Cho In obviously had be hardened up by Lee Seon Woo’s deny of his existence.

Lee Seon Woo is doing MRI scan for his condition. Lee Cho in sits with Kim Seo Yeon & discuss about Lee Seon Woo’s condition. Lee Cho In said that when it was that Lee Seon Woo has the tumour. Kim Seo Yeon said correct his sentence when he learns about it. Lee Cho In is surprise. Kim Seo Yeon tells that Lee Seon Woo had the condition 7 years ago that we went to the States to cut off all contacts, it when he learned he had it & this is the recurrences from that previous tumour. Flashback of Lee Seon Woo 1st seizure in China & scene from the confrontation in the villa Lee Seon Woo’s voice over that he wanted his father recognition & her desire to fix her woman he love’s heart. Lee Seon Woo started off as a Cardiologist, but his father asks him to give up being a Cardiologist to be a Neurosurgeon. Lee Cho In said shouting his grievances that he never been hug & loved by Na Hye Joo that he yearns for that he demands his own existence to live. Lee Seon Woo said there is no vacancy for him in his family as what he work so hard to achieve, Lee Cho In got his part of his bargain so easily. Voice over of Lee Seon Woo apologising to Lee Cho In as Le Cho In scream begging please for Lee Seon Woo to apologise. This is seen that it is too late as Lee Seon Woo had step over the point of no return. Lee Cho In leaves dejectedly after being reject & abandoned by Lee Seon Woo

Lee Seon Woo regains consciousness & wakes up to finds that he is in Bo Seong Hospital. The radiologist discuss about doing the can through PACS. Lee Seon Woo comes out & ask what are they doing & who order this test to be run? The Radiologist said that this was order by Lee Cho In. Lee Seon Woo finds his scans & now suffering from blur vision. Lee Seon Woo orders them to delete the scan straight away & not to send the scan through the PACS. Lee Seon Woo sternly ask them to have it delete The Radiologist follows his instruction. Lee Seon Woo ask them not to disclose what had happened today to anyone even to Lee Cho In what they has seen. Lee Seon Woo leaves. The Radiologist asks whether the scan needs to be deleted as it is against regulation. The scan haven’t been deleted just yet

As Lee Seon Woo marches out the corridors he finds that his vision is starting to blur. Kim Seo Yeon asks whether Lee Cho in can able to treat Lee Seon Woo & let this matter be bygones. Kim Seo Yeon concern & asks how Lee Seon Woo was was & the results of the CT scan. Lee Seon Woo just mentioned Kim Seo Yeon to go home. Kim Seo Yeon screams at Lee Seon Woo not to sideline her as he takes no heed. Lee Seon Woo goes to his office. As he goes to his computer to move his mouse, he finds that his right had is suffering from some paralysis. The using his left hand, he opens the file on the scan. Lee Seon Woo can’t believe that his tumour had rapidly spread from the recent taken scan & now experiencing frequent suffering from blur vision. Lee Seon Woo tries to go for his medication but already suffering from nausea as he throws up as the symptoms are getting closer in frequency
Radiologist showed Lee Seon Woo scans to Lee Cho In, obviously it wasn’t deleted as both Lee Seon Woo & Lee Cho In had view the scans. Lee Cho In goes to Lee Jong Min who is sleeping. Lee Cho In asks whether Lee Jong Min knew all along about Lee Seon Woo’s health status. Lee Cho In upsets that the person under the disguise of normalcy who wants his demise is currently very ill but he will not relent & forgive what Lee Seon Woo had done. Lee Seon Woo should stay alive for Lee Cho In to take his revenge & not fall ill. Lee Cho In said that Lee Seon Woo is not fit to live in this world. Lee Cho In walks away & Lee Jong Min was awake all the time as he opens his eyes as lee Cho in is rage with fury like a tormented soul
Oh Yeong Ji massaging her face with face toner. Flashback of her recalling their days in Cheongju celebrating her birthday & recalls that Lee Cho In told her that she is not a bad person but how grateful he is to her to have her beside him. Yes. Oh Yeong Ji asks what the notebook is for. Lee Cho In said that his father didn’t like the previous laptop & broke it by throwing on to the floor (it was thrown on to the floor in rage by Na Hye Joo). Lee Cho in said that it was for his father as Lee Jong Min is bored without one. Oh Yeong Ji is glad that Lee Jong Min has signs of great improvement if he can pick up the laptop & throw it down the floor. Lee Cho In remarks that sometimes Oh Yeong Ji look like a foolish then pinches her for her cuteness. Lee Cho In asks her to bring it to Lee Jong Min. Oh Yeong Ji assures Lee Cho In she will take it to Lee Jong Min & may sure that Lee Jong Min can comprehend how to use the notebook. Then suddenly Lee Cho in asks her to close her eyes a while at the moment in which she obediently obeys then Lee Cho In stoop down & brush his cheek on her lip to indicate a peck at his cheeks. It is nice that Lee Cho in have a different outlook when he is with Oh Yeong Ji & takes every opportunity to have some skin skip with her. Lee Cho in smiles & leaves having had a sort of a “goodbye kiss” from her as Oh Yeong Ji is left to digest what has happened, eventually she also feel thrilled by it
I like how subtle in the simplicity if their relationship of Oh Yeong Ji & Lee Cho In is uncover here. It is not so romancing with the wind but yet enough to keep it going & interest to the audience
Kim Hyeong Joo & Kim Jin Geun reports to work having their lover’s bickers as Lee Cho In greets Kim Hyeong Joo as the Centre Director for emergency centre. They hug each other & give pats, Kim Hyeong Joo congratulate their accomplishment although they had great worries. Kim Hyeong Joo weary that they might have hiccups again from the Neurology Centre & need the full consensus from the Board of trustee before all is well. Lee Cho In assures them that he will put the Neurology centre to rest & gain the support required.
Oh Yeong Ji takes the notebook then set it up as she guides Lee Jong Min to type. Oh Yeong Ji explains that the notebook is better than the previous laptop is using as she guides Lee Jong Min’s hand, he type Oh Yeong Ji. Oh Yeong Ji is amaze that Lee Jong Min knows her by name & recognises her. Lee Jong Min put his finger up once to indicate yes. Oh Yeong Ji thanks for Lee Jong Min’s recognition. Na Hye Joo takes & reads it. The emergency staff is thrilled that the emergency centre has been approve from reading the bulletin board. Nam Yong Tae & the staff of the Neurology centre is upset. Lee Seon Woo comes to read it. Medical Director Bang asks Na Hye Joo not to be over react about the summon & make preparation to face the commission. Medical Director Bang said that the case conference that was debated will the main agenda of the commission inquiry on how Lee Seon Woo conduct the surgery. Na Hye Joo is choke that Medical Director Bang is instigated now taking orders from Lee Cho In but Medical Director Bang that he is doing this for the sake of the reputation as the Medical Director of Bo Seong Hospital. Medical Director Bang leaves. Na Hye Joo is left with her whole world collapsing right before her as her son is going to be scrutinize by the medical board & blames Lee Cho In
Le Seon Woo comes to see his Neurology staff. Nam Yong Tae asks for a transfer. Nam Yong Tae asks what will become of the Neurology Centre as they are being sidelined. I like how Shin Hyun Joon can force to bulge out his superficial vein in his forehead on cue. Lee Seon Woo goes for his medication when his secretary comes in with summons to face the ethic commission. Lee Seon Woo know that this is Lee Cho In’s doing
Oh Yeong Ji is reprimanded by her Health Clinic Director for disappearing on her Chinese tourist in her guided tour. Remember she was kidnap by Chae Chi Sul. The Clinic Director receives complaints for her action. Oh Yeong Ji can only apologise for her action. The Director let her off the hook after a stern warning as they could find a replacement for her in the end. Then the Supervisor congratulated Oh Yeong Ji that the Emergency centre finally approved by the Board of Trustee. Oh Yeong is happy to hear the news that all is well for lee Cho In that he finally got his emergency centre. Supervisor is surprise that Oh Yeong Ji doesn’t know anything that is happening. Lee Cho In comes knocking at her office door to ask her to go out for lunch
Lee Cho In holding hands with Oh Yeong Ji as she tells how happy she is to hear the news of the emergency centre. Lee Cho In affirms that it is true & it is the wishes of his father Lee Jong Min. Oh Yeong Ji said it was great to hear the news. Oh Yeong was about to tell of Lee Jong Min, when Lee Seon Woo calls out to him. It is amazing that Lee Cho In can change his expression from jovial to cold heart like a switch of a button. Lee Cho In asks Oh Yeong Ji to wait for him for a moment as he speaks to Lee Seon Woo & he will return shortly. Oh Yeong Ji excuses herself & suggested to cancelled the lunch to have the both of them talk in detailed Oh Yeong Ji walks away but is hold back by Lee Cho In who insist that it will take a moment & ask her to stay where she is
Lee Seon Woo asks about the ethic commission that Lee Cho In really want to revoke his right to be a Doctor. Lee Cho In said that he has no right to practice at all. Lee Cho In tells that Lee Seon Woo’s tumour is already enlarged to 4.2cm & asks how Lee Seon Woo able to perform surgery under those health conditions can. Lee Seon Woo said he will manage his condition. How can he managed his condition in such unpredictability & risk the life of the patient if he suffers a seizure during the surgery. Does he think that patient life is a game to be play with & in risk? Lee Cho In reminds himself; yes Lee Seon Woo had taken risk in regardless the patient’s life. Oh Yeong Ji know that Lee Seon Woo was the world to Lee Cho In. Lee Cho in said that he is grateful for Oh Yeong Ji concern & worries. Lee Cho In asks that when they are together not to discuss about this matter but matter that regards to just the 2 of them. Oh Yeong Ji understands. Lee Cho in brings her in with his embrace that got Oh Yeong Ji by surprise in a public place

Lee Seon Woo goes to visit his father Lee Jong Min. Lee Seon Woo wants to hold his father’s hand but hesitates, he place his hands next to his father’s. Lee Seon Woo begins to pour out his feelings Lee Seon Woo said he never once thought to surpass his father, but he wanted to be the exact of his father. Lee Seon Woo was chasing after his father & was willing to do all he instructed obediently. But Lee Seon Woo will not stand by to see that he is being dismiss as a Doctor by someone else, he rather die than you give up his profession. . As he about to leave, Lee Jong Min grips Lee Seon Woo hand & strokes it. Lee Seon Woo is emotionally touched by the gesture as he holds his father’s hand & sobs. Lee Seon Woo ask why Lee Jong Min never did this to him earlier or else he will not have faulted so badly. Na Hye Joo is behind watching this

Lee Cho In & Oh Yeong Ji goes to see the night skyline of Seoul. Oh Yeong Ji tells that in her hometown in Hamgyong Buk Do in North Korea that in the night lights will switch off & it will be pitch dark but in Seoul, even in the night there are many colour radiant lights & it looks pretty. The lights out there being switch on by individual people. The lights that is switch on & off in their household & for the family. Kang Suk Ho ran through the diagnostic of Lee Seon Woo’s tumour that there is only option of surgery, if it unattended, don’t know what the outcome might happened as Lee Cho in contemplate in the park as he recalls their exchanges in their confrontation in the villa. Lee Seon Woo enters the emergency room as all eyes on him on his emergences. Lee Cho In sees him but take no notice as Lee Seon Woo calls out to him. Lee Cho In & Lee Seon Woo have a private chat aside. Lee Cho In asks whether he is feeling frighten because he is dying, so Lee Seon Woo discard his ego to make an appearance to him as he is now guilt stricken that he wants to survive no matter what. Lee Seon Woo said that he is ridden with guilt that why he came. Lee Seon Woo asks that Lee Cho In does his surgery as his Surgeon. Lee Seon Woo said that his life or death, it is up to Lee Cho in to decide. Lee Cho In said why he should do that. Lee Cho In said that he is already dying as it is & he is the person who wanted his demise, he doesn’t need to touch him at all to get that objective as he sees Lee Seon Woo’s flaccid paralysis got worse. Lee Seon Woo begs him to do his surgery to judge his life & death but Lee Cho In declines to perform the surgery as he wants to see him dying slowly & gradually before his eyes. Lee Cho In leaves

Kim Hyeong Joo asks Kim Jin Geun what are the likely chances that Lee Cho In will do Lee Seon Woo’s surgery. Kim Jin Geun said he has to do it because Lee Seon Woo is his brother. In the emergency room Lee Seon Woo is wheel into the emergency room as Kim Hyeong Joo attends to Lee Seon Woo to check his vitals. Kim Seo Yeon said that her seizure attack was less than 5 mins ago. Lee Cho in is there to witness that Lee Seon Woo in unconscious. Lee Cho In for a person who will come into a patient in distress to try to save him like he did previous times is rather cold towards Lee Seon Woo to even see him as a human being. Kim Hye Joo orders a scan to be done on Lee Seon Woo’s brain activity as he is in stupor state. Lee Seon Woo with some consciousness tries to reach out for Lee Cho In & mumbles as Kim Hyeong Joo asks him to relax. Oh Yeong Ji comes to the emergency room only to finds Lee Cho In cold heartedly walks away from lee Seon Woo. Lee Seon Woo then collapse into unconsciousness. Lee Seon Woo is wheel to emergency room to try to revive him. Oh Yeong Ji goes to give chase to Lee Cho In. Lee Cho In recalls Kang Suk Ho diagnostic on Lee Seon Woo that if his condition is left alone without any intervention, Lee Seon might not last a month. Then the flashback of the wrong Lee Seon Woo did to Lee Cho In over the establishment of the Neurology centre he so wanted but what waited for him was a title deed that was in Lee Cho In’s name. Lee Jong Min chose Lee Cho In over his own son. Lee Seon Woo asks Lee Cho In to decided his life & death in doing the surgery
