Synopsis
The story that became legend & myth has it that more than 2000 years ago, the Kingdom of Nak-Rang possessed a mystical Ja Myung Drum (Ja-Myung-Go) which will sound by itself when enemies invade. In reality, Ja Myung Go does not represent the drum but instead, is embodied by the King’s daughter, Princess Ja-Myung. Princess Ja-Myung and Princess Nak-Rang are born on the same day and time to the same father but different mothers. It is predicted that one princess will become the nation’s saviour while the other will bring the entire nation down. Using her family’s powerful background, Princess Nak-Rang’s mother successfully establishes her daughter as the saviour princess while Princess Ja-Myung, who is branded the princess of destruction, escapes death with the help of her mother and grows up among the common folk. When she learns of her true identity, Princess Ja-Myung returns to her Kingdom, resulting in a new wave of internal politics and power struggles. Princess Ja-Myung and Prince Ho-Dong of the rival state of Goguryeo fall in love but fate has it that they cannot be together. Princess Nak-Rang, who is also in love with the Prince, willingly gives her nation up to him by destroying her Kingdom’s mystical war drum. Princess Ja-Myung, fighting to save her nation, finally pierces her sword towards her beloved Prince Ho-Dong…

Background
Daemusin on his conquest for land as strike an interest to the fertile Kingdom of Nak Rang but after many attempts failed due to mystical layout of the country is frustrated Prince Ho Dong decides to help his father get Nak Rang for him as he had promised his father as a child. During a peace treaty trip Nak Rang, Daemusin & Prince Hong Do witness for themselves the power of Ja Myung Go as a physical drum & realise how mystical it is, Prince Ho Dong had to think of alternatives. Prince Ho Dong succeeded of course the usual seduce the Princess Nak Rang under his spell that she will do his bidding. As plan Princess Nak Rang fall head over heels over the Prince Ho Dong (although it seems the Prince Ho Dong only harbour his love for Princess Ja Myung & the fact Pricess Nak Rang knows of the truth) forsake her own country & eventually to all tragic heroine must do is her tragic death. But as usual in such grandeur went both Princess Nak Rang & Princess Ja Myung crosses swords with each other, one to defend the other to destroy. Princess Ja Myung reveals to her sister Princess Nak Rang that even if she destroy the drum, it of no matter, the Ja Myung that protects the Kingdom of Nak Rang is her. Princess Nak Rang got the better hand at destroy the drum. The scene looks a lot like some scene from a play station game breaks the drum. In the end when Goguryeo invades Nak Rang, then the poor Princess Nak Rang finds the bluntly truth about Prince Ho Dong as he chosen over his kingdom & his own political survival rather than with her & her love
On the other hand Daemusin Queen wants to put her son on the throne, thus the palace intrigue & twisted fates. Prince Ho Dong goes to Princess Ja Myung to talk her out of it. But Ja Myung is already really cold from the tragedy of her defeated nation by the person she had love, Prince Ho Dong. Prince Ja Myung is herself the mystical Ja Myung Drum (Ja-Myung-Go) & destine to be new restored Nak Rang Queen Ruler as to Prince Ho Dong succeed his father as the 4th King of Goguryeo not that the Queen going to let it happened. Historically Prince Ho Dong was never King, as the drama depicts, he will end up dead on Ja Myung’s sword, although historically the Queen poisons him due to malicious accusation as he feared that he will be Crown Prince

After the year of the downfall of Kingdom of Nak Rang, a band wagon force of rebels inspire & rally behind Princess Ja Myung who is destined to restore their country set up guerilla warfares & Daemusin commands his son Prince Ho Dong to bring back this prize for him & he will make him Crown Prince. Prince Ho Dong seek out Princess Ja Myung to end her rebellion quest but as she had incites propaganda in term of folklore of Prince Ho Dong love affair with Princess Nak Rang then ended in tragedy as she betray her country for love among common folks in puppet & shadow plays & as to ride the guilt of Prince Ho Dong, it eventually will end up in Princess Ja Myung’s sword even if it brings her great sadness & pain over her restoration of her country

I have no intention in proceeding any further than this, just watching “the making” & the first two episode to have a feel & flavour, just passing time as there was no Family Honour this week. A 50 episode drama of lovers that meets ultimate tragic end that we all know it will bound to happened, may be too tedious & taxing for my cup of tea. I like what Princess Ja Myung tells Prince Ho Dong
